We know that it can be hard being so far away from home. That's why LSUA aims to make the transition from your home country to Louisiana as easy as possible. The University offers support from your first day on campus until the day you walk across the stage and earn your degree. We pride ourselves on our family atmosphere and want you to feel right at home.
All international students are assigned an advisor who understands the needs of those acclimating to a new university and a new country at the same time. Our advisors strive to make the academic advising process as easy as possible for the student while fully explaining the courses needed and required to pursue the student's major of choice while graduating on time.
International students have their own Orientation session in the week before classes start in the fall in order to become more familiar with the University, procedures, and to make friends from around the world. The Orientation session will help answer any lingering questions as well as help in getting international students set up on campus with meal plans and any other items.
The International Student Association is one of the largest student organizations on campus and home to students from around the world. The mission of the organization is to help support and help foster the international student community on the LSUA campus.
The international students at LSUA are active throughout the college campus participating in numerous events. Our international students ride a float in the annual Mardi Gras Parade, participate in the Ms. LSUA Pageant, and represent our various athletic teams. Other popular events include the Multicultural Festival, International Student Graduation Reception, and Crawfish Boil.
