Alexandria Museum of Art

The Museum was founded in 1977 and occupies the Historic Rapides Bank Building, circa 1898, listed on the National Historic Register. The expanded AMoA is the centerpiece of Alexandria's riverfront, situated on the entire 900 block of Main Street. The museum comprises of exhibition spaces, curatorial and collection storage, administrative and education space and other public gathering areas.

Continuing Education

Louisiana State University at Alexandria believes learning is a life-long process. LSUA provides a variety of non-credit opportunities for children, seniors & in-between through the Continuing Education Department.

LSUA Continuing Education is actively involved in Workforce & Economic Development by providing training to employees of local businesses. Training is proactive and designed to improve employee skills, strengthen business competitive posture and potentially add employees.

Enrichment courses for Lifelong Learning and Wellness provide learning opportunities in technology, exam preparation, health & wellness, personal enrichment, professional development, travel courses and free forums. All are open to the public and will fit into a variety of schedules.

LSUA Continuing Education presents Leadership Central Louisiana annually, hosting business leaders and community volunteers. The eight month program, which meets once a month, provides leadership education topics and community resource awareness presentations and tours.

Campus Bookstore

Our Barnes & Noble Bookstore operates to serve students, faculty, and staff by providing high quality products, including textbooks, novels, office and college supplies, clothing apparel, gifts, etc.

Campus Library

The LSUA Bolton Library is designed, equipped and organized to provide students with resources and services most helpful to their growth and development. The library and the services it offers are an integral part of the university experience, and provide opportunities for students to study, conduct research, develop specific interests, and acquire information literacy skills. Through its reference tools, online catalog, and online databases, the library’s and the world’s wealth of knowledge and information may be explored.

Childcare

Located on campus the LSUA Childrens Center is licensed by the Louisiana Department of Social Services through the Bureau of Licensing as a Class A program and participants in Quality Start, Louisiana's accreditation system for licensed childcare centers.

Top priority for registration is given to students enrolled on campus who require full-time care for their children, then to those who require part-time care. We also provide child care to faculty and staff members, as well as members of the Alumni and Friends Association

Technology Services

The Department of Information and Educational Technology (IET) Services provides technological support and training for the entire campus community. It maintains helpdesk services via phone during working hours and online 24/7. It also provides campus computers, wired and wireless network access, telephones, web page updates, and computer and software training.

IET also supports the university’s records and registration system and maintains a portal page where all students, faculty and staff can check e-mail, access course materials, register for courses online, and access other resources. The training schedule of IET classes can be found at http://iet.lsua.edu/training or by logging on to myLSUA at http://my.lsua.edu. The classes are free to LSUA students, faculty, and staff. University Academy of CENLA

University Academy (formerly Cenla Christian Academy) will enable its students to graduate with distinguished achievement while simultaneously earning an associate's degree from LSU of Alexandria. This will be accomplished by providing college-level curriculum and instruction, appropriate interventions and support, and by communicating and modeling high behavior and academic achievement standards to students as they mature into young, college-going adults.
