The Alexandria Business Foundation has awarded LSU of Alexandria $600,000 toward funding an endowed chair of Accounting. The LSUA College of Business applied for a gift from the Foundation with the purpose of seeking Board of Regents matching funds.

In a signing ceremony Tuesday, Avoyelles Parish School Superintendent Karen Tutor and LSUA Chancellor Dr. Paul Coreil signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize the pathway for high school students in Avoyelles parish to earn college credit through dual enrollment classes offered by LSUA.

Legendary local swim coach Wally Fall honored his grandfather, John Pugh Wilkinson, with the planting of a memorial oak tree at LSUA. Fall was joined by his family, the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, the LSUA Foundation, and nearly fifty faculty and staff for the honorary ribbon cutting ceremony.
