LSU of Alexandria and Central Louisiana Technical Community College have signed a “2+2 Business Articulation” memorandum of understanding (MOU) that creates a clear and guaranteed transfer pathway from CLTCC’s Associate of Science in Business Administration to LSUA’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Final preliminary employment figures for December were recently revised upward showing the total employment for Alexandria reached 62,275 in December 2022, the highest level since July 2016! According to Dupont, this marks the third time since the pandemic that employment has reached a new high.

In November, central Louisiana had an unemployment rate of 3.6% compared to 4.1% for the state. The Alexandria metro area recorded a 3.0% unemployment rate, thelowest among the state’s metro areas for the 19th consecutive month. The Louisiana Workforce Commission notes Alexandria currently has 1,900 unemployed and 5,600 jobopenings. This equates to approximately three openings for each unemployed

Christmas spending in CENLA is expected to be better than last year. So far, total sales in Rapides are running 7% higher according to sales tax revenue data, while local online sales are exceeding that rate. Online sales in Rapides are 11% higher than last year at this time, and areas like Natchitoches and Evangeline are posting 18% and 41% higher online sales, respectively.
