LSUA continues to set the standard for undergraduate enrollment across the state of Louisiana with a 12.8% increase in enrollment for the 2023 Spring semester. Spring enrollment officially stands at 3,992, the largest spring class in LSUA’s history.
The growth in the Spring semester numbers represents the largest spring-to-spring increase LSUA has seen. Just this fall, LSUA cemented its place as the fastest-growing undergraduate institution in the state with an enrollment increase of more than 11% over the previous fall. Only two other universities in the state demonstrated positive enrollment growth, with the closest clocking just over 1% growth.
The drivers of this growth include innovative academic offerings by award-winning faculty, expanded recruitment efforts across the state, personalized attention to students during all facets of their college experience, and a swath of on-campus activities to promote a vibrant campus that retains students.
88.3% of freshmen enrolled in the Fall 2022 semester returned for the Spring 2023 term. This 4% increase in spring-to-retention over last year evidences the value students place in their experience at LSUA. The enrollment of first-time freshmen in a spring semester is also up compared to the previous year. Great things are happening, and people want to be a part of it.
Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement Abbey Bain said, “We have expanded our recruitment and retention efforts to showcase the family environment at LSUA. The one-on-one attention that students receive cultivates the right environment for academic and personal success.”
“The continued growth in our LSUA enrollment brings us one step closer to our goal of 5,000 students by 2025,” said LSUA Chancellor Paul Coreil. “Our continued record enrollment makes LSUA one of the fastest growing 4-year universities in Louisiana…a designation that we are very proud of and one we will continue to work hard to maintain as we move closer to our goal.”
