ALEXANDRIA - Louisiana State University at Alexandria is pleased to announce the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) has granted continuing accreditation to the Associate of Science in Nursing and the RN to BSN programs through 2029. The ACEN accreditation acknowledges a nursing program’s commitment to educational excellence and achievement of all standards and criteria established by ACEN. Philanthropic contributions of more than $800,000 for nursing faculty positions, nursing scholarships, and learning resources were recognized as strengths of the program.
ACEN CEO Dr. Marshal Stoll, EdD commended “the flexibility, courage, and resiliency demonstrated by nursing program faculty and leaders, and their institutional colleagues during the global pandemic.”
“The attainment of national accreditation from ACEN is a wonderful accomplishment and testament to the commitment by nursing faculty to provide a quality nursing education for our students,” stated Dr. Cathy Cormier, Director, School of Nursing. She added, “The nursing program receives a tremendous amount of community support, which significantly contributes to the success of our programs.”
LSUA Chancellor Paul Coreil said, “We are extremely pleased that our LSUA School of Nursing has been granted continued accreditation from ACEN. This achievement clearly confirms the academic excellence of the LSUA nursing program that is so crucial to meeting the critical demand for well-trained nurses within the Central Louisiana workforce.”
