Chancellor Releases Mask Policy

Aug 14, 2020, 08:28 AM
Effective on July 30, 2020

LSUA is a community, and our members are expected to avoid endangering the health and safety of other members of the community. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, studies have shown that this is best achieved by wearing a face covering when it is not possible to maintain six feet of distance from others.

Faculty, staff, and students are expected to wear face coverings over the mouth and nose when social distancing is not possible. Inside campus buildings, face coverings must be worn at ALL times. Community members should be diligent upon entering or exiting offices, classrooms, or buildings and when meeting others in the hallways and common areas. When outdoors, face coverings should also be worn when social distancing is not possible.  This includes when walking between buildings if others are in close proximity.

Exceptions:

  • Face coverings are not required when alone in a private office or when a Plexiglas barrier exists between two individuals.
  • Faculty may wear a face shield when teaching.
  • Students are not expected to wear face coverings inside their apartment at The Oaks.
  • Students are not expected to wear a face covering during athletic physical activity, including conditioning exercises, team practice, or competition. RRAC and NAIA guidelines will be followed.

It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our LSUA community members safe and healthy. Please adhere to this policy so everyone at LSUA can remain as safe as possible. Thank you!
