Louisiana State University of Alexandria prides itself on its small, family-like atmosphere. For the Malone family of Pineville, LSUA has always been a welcoming place and a Malone tradition.
Debbie Malone, mom to Haylee Malone and David Malone, obtained an Associate of Science in Nursing in 1984 and has worked in Central Louisiana since. She plans to retire from her career in nursing in July 2020.
Haylee graduated from LSUA in 2010 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in English. She then went on to pursue two master's degrees, one from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and one from Abilene Christian University. Haylee currently works at LSUA in the Division of Student Enrollment and Engagement as the Student Life Coordinator.
David decided to attend LSUA after working several years at various jobs. He first obtained an Associate of Arts in Psychology from LSUA in 2018. He decided to return to school and is currently on track to graduate from LSUA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in December 2020. He currently interns with Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.
Haylee and David both grew up in Pineville and went to Pineville High School. “We’ve always loved LSUA. It means a lot to our family. David was actually named after a family friend who passed away but has an LSUA scholarship named after him,” said Haylee.
We are so glad that the Malone family chose LSUA as the place to further each of their educations. Thanks for your dedication to our school and campus.
