LSUA Sees Enrollment Gains For Fall 2019

Enrollment continues to grow at LSUA.

Enrollment at LSU of Alexandria continued its upward trend across all students for the Fall 2019 semester. This fall, LSUA welcomed 3,285 students to the University marking a five percent increase over Fall 2018 with online and transfer students showing particularly positive strides. 

The number of online students surged by 41.4 percent over the previous fall semester. Additionally, the University recorded almost 20 percent growth among transfer students with 347 enrolled for Fall 2019. 

LSUA also continued to see large numbers of incoming first-time freshmen with 469 students enrolled. This is a 1.3 percent increase from the previous fall semester and among the largest incoming freshmen classes in school history. 

“We are extremely excited about our 5% growth in overall fall enrollment. With almost 3,300 total students and with one of the largest first-time freshmen classes in history, we hope to continue building on this success and help more students graduate and enter the workforce ready to contribute to a strong economic future for Central Louisiana,” said LSUA Chancellor Dr. Paul Coreil. 

Other enrollment figures include a 1.3 percent increase in continuing students from fall to fall, a 5.4 percent increase in re-entry students, and steady numbers among those who are dual enrolled. 

Additionally, LSUA continued to attract students from around the country to around the world. This semester, enrolled students represent 28 countries and 41 states.
