LSUA and the Department of Nursing are proud to announce that 100 percent of the May 2018 graduates passed the NCLEX exam.

The NCLEX is a nationwide exam administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to determine if a new nursing graduate has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to deliver safe effective nursing care.

According to the National Council of State Board in Nursing, the year-to-date national average for first-time testing on the NCLEX among associate degree nursing programs is 84.24 percent.

“Congratulations to the Class of Spring 2018 on an outstanding 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX exam,” says Dr. Catherine Cormier, chair of the Department of Nursing. “The success of our graduates is testimony to the quality of students, faculty, and staff at LSUA. Our clinical partners also play a strong role in helping us prepare graduates for the Cenla healthcare workforce and I am very grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to the nursing program at LSUA.”
