An LSUA Financial Aid Office Staff member serves as the Veteran Affairs School Certifying Officer and assists Veteran Students in obtaining funds through the various V.A. educational benefit programs, as well as programs for active duty, National Guard, and military reserve personnel and their families.

VA Data Certification forms are required for each semester you wish to receive benefits at LSUA. The VA Data form can be found HERE
LSUA will certify the enrollment from complete and valid VA data forms to the VA within 14 business days of receipt. Tuition and Fee amounts will not be reported to the VA until after the census date of the semester/term in question, based
on instruction from the VA. This includes all sessions as well as 2 & 3 terms, all will be reported on the census date for the semester as a whole.

The National Guard Tuition Exemption Program is an Legislative Exemption that provides for an award equal to the amount of a student's tuition only for current National Guard members that are in good standing with the National Guard and are in good academic standing with the university.
LSUA receives a list of all eligible National Guard members each semester from the Louisiana National Guard. To notify the LSUA Financial Aid office that you are enrolled and wish to use your eligible exemption complete the LSUA National Guard Exemption Form. This form should be completed each semester or term you wish to use your exemption.

The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) VetSuccess Program is authorized by Congress under Title 38, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 31. It is sometimes referred to as the Chapter 31 program. The VetSuccess program assists Veterans with service-connected disabilities to prepare for, find, and keep suitable jobs. For Veterans with service-connected disabilities so severe that they can not immediately consider work, VetSuccess offers services to improve their ability to live as independently as possible.

The Montgomery GI Bill is available for those who enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Montgomery GI Bill encompasses both the Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty (Chapter 30). Under VA Chapter 30, active duty military members enroll and pay $100 per month for 12 months; and are then entitled to receive a monthly education benefit once they have completed a minimum service obligation.
