Join us for the first Cavanaugh Lecture Series event of the fall semester.

Dr. Zhongqiang (Donald) Wang, Professor of English at the School of Foreign Studies in the Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, P.R. China and a visiting scholar at LSUA, will kick off this Fall’s Cavanaugh Lecture Series on September 10th at 5:30 PM at the Alexandria Museum of Art.

His topic is “American Missionaries in Early 20th Century China: Their Writings about Chinese Life and Contributions to Chinese Society.”

Dr. Wang has multiple publications to his credit, including: “Narrative therapy: the Humanity in Raymond Carver's Short Story” and “On Foreign Literature Under Different Culture Conceptions”.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
