Seth Bovey, Professor of English at LSU Alexandria and former guitarist and bass guitarist in a number of Texas garage bands during the ‘70s and ‘80s will finish off this spring’s series of Cavanaugh Lectures on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30 in the Alexandria Museum of Art.
He will introduce his forthcoming book, Five Years Ahead of My Time: Garage Rock from the 1950s to the Present, published by Reaktion Books of London. The lecture will focus on the origins and evolution of garage rock, with an emphasis on how garage rock saved rock and roll from oblivion.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
