Bachelor of General Studies in Professional Aviation

The Professional Aviation program is designed for students who wish to become FAA-certified multi-engine commercial pilots and flight instructors. Students will take flight instruction from Gulf Coast Aviation, an established flight school that has many years of experience partnering with college aviation programs. All required aviation lecture courses will be offered in 224 Mulder Hall on the LSUA Campus.

Students who complete the Professional Aviation program will earn the following FAA Certifications/Ratings:

  • Private Pilot Certificate
  • Instrument Pilot Rating
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI)

Professional Aviation Students will also have the option of earning the following FAA ratings:

  • Multi-Engine Pilot Rating
  • Multi-Engine Flight Instructor Rating (MEI)
  • Flight Instructor Instrument Rating (CFII)
