Legendary local swim coach Wally Fall honored his grandfather, John Pugh Wilkinson, with the planting of a memorial oak tree at LSUA. Fall was joined by his family, the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, the LSUA Foundation, and nearly fifty faculty and staff for the honorary ribbon cutting ceremony.

The LSUA Foundation hosted its annual Black History Luncheon, previously scheduled for February, on Wednesday, May 25. The event featured the inspirational words of the Honorable David Michael Williams, 9th Judicial District Court Judge. The event also honored Anais Callegari, recipient of this year’s Ebony Scholarship Award.

For the first time in its history, the LSUA women’s tennis team advances to the semifinals of the national tournament. With the victory against SCAD Savannah, LSUA (19-0) matched its most wins for a single season in school history, tying the 19 victories in 2017.

LSUA staff and students joined in the 10th Annual Louisiana Dragon Boat Races™ hosted by the Alexandria Museum of Art this weekend on Lake Buhlow. Flanked by nearly thirty other teams, the staff of Generals Reaux and the students of LSUA Spitfire competed on the water for their chance at the coveted Champion’s Paddle.

Bobby Branton, a Sergeant and 16-year veteran of the Alexandria Police Department (APD), is facing one of his greatest fears head-on…finishing his undergraduate degree. Twenty years after earning his associate degree in criminal justice at LSUA, Sgt. Branton made the decision to return to college to complete a Bachelor of Science.
