Students entering first-semester clinical courses at LSUA participated in Trauma Informed Care and Emotional Intelligence Training, hosted by Kelli Cook with Hopeful Insights Consulting.
This training is designed to help students understand how trauma, abuse, and stress can influence patients’ behaviors and responses in healthcare settings.
Kelli also introduced them to the importance of understanding and practicing the 4 Pillars of Emotional Intelligence:
*Self-Awareness
*Self-Regulation
*Social-Awareness
*Relationship Management
The overall goal of the training is to build the resilience and competence required for program completion, which will increase the number of LSUA ASN graduates entering the healthcare workforce.
The workshop was funded by a Healthcare Occupations Grant from The Rapides Foundation.
