LSUA Hosts 80th Annual Conference of Louisiana Colleges & Universities

Higher education leaders from around the state visited LSUA for the conference.

The 80th Annual Conference of Louisiana Colleges & Universities (CLCU) was held on Thursday at LSUA with a theme of 'Our Vision, Our Future.' 

The Conference of Louisiana Colleges and Universities was established with the purpose of improving postsecondary education in Louisiana. The CLCU is comprised of representatives from Louisiana's accredited two-year and four-year colleges and universities, as well as members of the Louisiana Board of Regents and the management boards for each system. 

Headed by LSUA Chancellor Dr. Guiyou Huang who served as president of CLCU this year, the conference featured a keynote address by Mr. Jim Clinton, president and CEO of CLEDA. The event also featured a student panel, faculty panel, and a panel featuring the leaders of the Louisiana higher education systems. 

Those speaking included Louisiana Community and Technical College System President Mr. Christopher Broadwater, UL System President Dr. Jim Henderson, LSU Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Stacia Haynie, and Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities President Dr. Stanton McNeely.

Also speaking was Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Kim Hunter Reed as well as remarks by CLTCC Chancellor Mr. James Sawtelle, LC President Dr. Rick Brewer, and The Association of Louisiana Faculty Senates Dr. James Robinson.
