Student Technology Fee

The Student Technology Fee Committee assumes responsibility for the allocation of funds derived from the Student Technology Fee, designated for technology-oriented initiatives on campus. These initiatives are proposed by faculty, staff, and students who seek support through the Student Technology Fee Grants.

Comprising a diverse assembly of LSUA faculty, staff, and students, the committee operates under the guidance of a designated chairperson. The committee chair announces the commencement of application cycles, either annually or semi-annually, extending invitations to all LSUA faculty, staff, students, and affiliated student organizations. Following the closure of the application period, all submissions are processed through a virtual ranking system. This facilitates individual review and assessment by committee members, who evaluate proposals based on predetermined criteria, including the anticipated impact on LSUA students, alignment with strategic objectives and campus requirements, total project expenditure, and projected outcomes.

Subsequently, the committee convenes to deliberate on the averaged rankings, allowing each member to contribute perspectives and insights. These discussions enable the committee to refine the rankings and arrive at a consensus. The finalized rankings, accompanied by recommendations from the committee chair, are then forwarded to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for thorough review and administrative endorsement. Upon approval, applicants are promptly notified of their award status and provided with guidance on the subsequent steps required to fulfill their requests.
