The Department of Student Engagement offers an array of services to students as they strive to realize their educational goals. These services include counseling, coordination of student life, assistance for students with disabilities, support for veterans and active-duty military, professional advising, and career guidance.

Advising

At LSUA, our advisors are dedicated to guiding students through every step of their academic journey, from their first year to graduation. Throughout their time at LSUA, students regularly meet with their advisors to explore topics such as program requirements, course selection, and future plans while ensuring they stay on track toward graduation.

Counseling Services

LSUA's counseling services are available to assist on-campus, degree-seeking students in addressing academic and personal problems that may hinder their academic progress. All counseling services are free and confidential, and students can schedule appointments by calling (318) 767-2604 or emailing tchestand@lsua.edu.

Health Center

The walk-in health center serves on-campus students. Most services are free for students and insurance is not required. Schedule an in-person appointment by calling or visiting the Health Center online.

Disability Services

Disability Services at LSUA provides comprehensive support and accommodations for students with learning, physical, psychological, or other disabilities that impact their academic pursuits. Through individualized assistance, documentation review, and coordination with faculty, Disability Services ensures students have equal access to educational opportunities and can achieve their full academic potential.

LSUA Cares

LSUA Cares is an essential student support resource that provides mental health screenings and a dedicated system for reporting students of concern. Through its online questionnaire and reporting tools, LSUA Cares helps identify and assist students who may be experiencing stress, depression, or other challenges that impact their academic success.

Title IX

Title IX at LSUA is committed to ending sexual violence and maintaining a community of respect by providing comprehensive support, reporting options, and educational resources. Through services offered by the Title IX Coordinator and staff, the university ensures compliance with non-discrimination policies while offering confidential advising, reporting mechanisms, and protective measures for all members of the LSUA community.

Basic Needs

The LSUA Basic Needs program provides essential support services and resources to help students overcome financial hardships, food insecurity, and housing challenges that may impact their academic success. Through partnerships with community organizations and campus initiatives, the program ensures students have access to emergency assistance, food pantry services, and guidance for securing stable housing and meeting other fundamental needs.

Children's Center

LSUA Children’s Center is an early learning center. We strive to be the best early childhood program there is. Our program is centered around children with an emphasis on reach-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum following guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
