  • Shaky Start for LSUA Rodeo Team

    The weekend started out shaky for the LSUA rodeo team. LSUA’s leading barrel racer, Bailey Carroll, had to vet release the rodeo because of a soft tissue injury to her horse, Chasin Lena, and was not able to compete.

  • LSUA Rodeo takes on Sam Houston

    Sam Houston State University hosted the intercollegiate rodeo competition this past weekend. The Sam Houston rodeo team has been around since the 1950’s and were great host for this event. This particular rodeo was a long go/ short go setup. This means that everyone gets to make a run in the long go and the top ten contestants are invited back into the short go.

  • LSUA Making Waves in its Second Rodeo of the Season

    In only its second rodeo of the season, the LSUA Rodeo Team is making waves in the Southern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. In this past weekend’s events held in Uvalde, Texas, Turner McGuffee and Landon Smith placed fifth in team roping. McGuffee is currently in eighth place in the region’s heading standings, while Smith is eighth in the region’s heeling standings.

    At this past weekend's rodeo event, LSUA's Katie Adams came in first place in breakaway roping in 2.1 seconds and beating out 96 competitors!! Additionally, the women's team placed 3rd at the rodeo.
