LSUA Welcomes Britni Lilley as Business Consultant for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at LSUA

On August 26, Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) hosted an open house to welcome Britni Lilley as the new Business Consultant for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at LSUA (LSBDC at LSUA). A seasoned communications professional and LSUA alumna, Lilley brings strategic insight, regional knowledge, and a commitment to small business growth across Central Louisiana.

The LSBDC at LSUA serves as a vital resource hub for pre-venture entrepreneurs and small business owners across seven parishes, including Avoyelles, Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine, Vernon, and Winn. It offers no-cost consulting, training, and business development services. The center is hosted on LSUA’s campus and supported through a collaborative partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Louisiana Economic Development (LED), and LSUA.

Rafael Romero, Dean of the LSUA College of Business, shared his enthusiasm for the center’s future: “The LSBDC at LSUA is a bridge between our university and the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Being housed on campus allows us to connect academic insight with practical business support, creating opportunities for collaboration that benefit students, faculty, and the broader community. We’re excited to enhance this program and deepen our relationships with small businesses throughout Central Louisiana.”

Lilley joins the LSBDC at LSUA with a background in strategic communications, nonprofit leadership, and consulting. Prior to her appointment, she served as Marketing and Communications Manager at Louisiana Central, where she led award-winning campaigns that elevated regional visibility and advanced economic development efforts. Her experience includes community development, event coordination, and executive-level communications.

“I’m excited to be back on campus and in a role where I get to help small business owners every day,” said Britni Lilley. “I’m driven by impact. By helping others succeed and supporting the small businesses that fuel our economy. At the LSBDC at LSUA, we guide entrepreneurs from idea to growth, but my role also means being a connector to other valuable resources in our communities. When we collaborate and lift each other up, momentum builds, and that momentum strengthens the entire region.”

In addition to her professional work, Lilley is a wife, mother of three active children, and serves in leadership roles with the Public Relations Association of Louisiana – Central Chapter and the Young Professionals Group of Cenla. She was named a 2023 CENLA 4WARD Emerging Leader and remains deeply involved in church, nonprofit organizations, and civic efforts throughout the region.
