ALEXANDRIA - The LSUA Division of Strategic Communications has been honored with the 2024 Best Marketing Campaign award at the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Bizzy Awards. The Bizzy Awards, which recognize exceptional performance and achievements among local businesses, presented 18 awards this year and celebrated 59 nominees across nine categories. The LSUA Division of Strategic Communications stood out among four other businesses nominated as Best Marketing campaign for 2024.
Adam Lord, LSUA’s Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications, accepted the award and remarked, “Our team is grateful for the support of LSUA’s leadership, the LSUA Foundation, and this community. So many incredible things are happening at LSUA, and it is our job to tell those stories. The success of our Communications team would not be possible without the efforts of Chase Dyess, Nathan Parish, Mira Alvarado, and Brianne Lashley. Everything you see coming out of LSUA is made by our team in-house. Thank you to our community of peers and to the Chamber of Commerce for recognizing our work.”
“All of us at LSUA are extremely proud of the tremendous achievements of our outstanding LSUA Division of Strategic Communications team,” said Paul Coreil, LSUA Chancellor. “Their unique talent and willingness to go the extra mile marketing LSUA is unparalleled and worthy of community-wide recognition. We thank the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber for recognizing excellence through this special annual event.”
The award-winning campaign centered around LSUA’s 2023 Shrimp Jam, the university’s premier annual fundraising event supporting LSUA Athletics and the LSUA Foundation. The Division of Strategic Communications developed a comprehensive marketing strategy, crafting a full asset package that included television ads, radio spots, graphics, and promotional materials. Their efforts were further amplified through organic social media engagement and advertising across multiple platforms.
Shrimp Jam, known for its casual yet vibrant atmosphere, highlights Louisiana cuisine and has featured notable LSU coaches as keynote speakers. The 2023 event, which showcased LSU Baseball’s National Champion Head Coach Jay Johnson, saw record-breaking success. Increased ticket prices combined with enhanced social media engagement attracted a larger audience, resulting in a 36% rise in attendance and a 69% increase in income over the previous year. This year’s event, coming September 24, will feature LSU Basketball Coach Matt McMahon.
Recognition at the Bizzy Awards honors LSUA’s commitment to excellence in marketing and its ability to drive impactful results for the university and the broader community.
