Cheer on the Generals as a member of the cheerleading squad or by being a part of the dance line.
Tryouts for the newly created LSUA cheerleading squad and auditions for the three-year-old Lieutenants dance line will be held in The Fort (Fitness Center), and all interested in participating are encouraged to attend.
“Our University continues to grow, and having two spirit groups is another sign of that growth,” said Adam Jonson, LSUA’s director of athletics. “A good amount of interest has been shown in having two distinct groups to allow each to focus on specific skills of both cheerleading and dancing.”
The two-day cheerleading tryouts will be held Friday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 at 9:00 a.m. in the LSUA Fitness Center.
Auditions for the Lieutenants will follow on Sunday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the LSUA Fitness Center.
All who are interested in either group can visit www.lsua.edu/CampusLife/ClubSports and click on the respective “Cheer” and “Dance” links to learn more. Specific information regarding tryout and audition requirements, policies and procedures, important dates and financial obligations can be found.
The tryout and audition forms are included on the page at the link above. Those packets contain all the necessary forms, including questionnaires, physical examination forms and checklists for those wishing to participate.
