Students who apply to LSUA may no longer have to submit a standardized test score (ACT/SAT) for admissions. Although not required for admission, we highly encourage students to submit scores. ACT & SAT scores are used for scholarship consideration. As a selective admissions institution, LSUA offers multiple pathways to allow students the opportunity to become an LSUA General. We encourage all students interested in attending LSUA to apply and let our Admissions Recruiters assist you through the admissions journey.
Test-Optional Admissions Criteria
Applicants will be considered for test-optional admissions based on the criteria below. Students who do not meet the criteria will need to submit an official test score (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer) to assist in their admissions review.

High school graduates who have not attended a technical, community college or university.
Students who have received college credits while in high school through dual enrollment, AP, or IB programs and have not attended college after high school graduation.
Should I still send all of my test scores to LSUA?
Yes! Here at LSUA providing standardized test scores can only help students. Test scores (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer) help students qualify for Academic Scholarships, receive college credit, and place into required classes. Students enrolled in 100% online programs are not eligible for scholarships.
Not a resident of Louisiana?
If the answer is Yes and you will be an on-campus student, LSUA offers multiple options to assist with the cost of Out-of-State Tuition.
Out-of-State Fee Waiver: For entering Freshmen, students must have a 2.25 cumulative High School GPA and a minimum 21 ACT or 1030 SAT score and be eligible for College Level English and Mathematics.
Four-Star Promise: Residents of the states of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas are eligible for an Out-of-State Fee Waiver as long as they apply for admissions by May 1 for the Fall semester or October 1 for the Spring/Summer semester.
How to Prepare
Be sure to stay focused!
Remember that colleges look at all courses you take in high school. It is easy to get off track during your senior year due to social activities and extracurricular activities. Studying hard your senior year will pay off!
Take the ACT or SAT, then take it again
The ACT is one of the most single important tests you can take that will determine where you go to college and what scholarships you are eligible to receive. Take it, then take it some more. Be sure to send LSUA your scores! Our school code is 1589. If you are struggling with scores, be sure to contact your Admissions Counselor who can give you options for alternative tests!
