
Scholarship Opportunities
LSUA offers a variety of scholarships to make your education more affordable. In addition to federal and state financial aid, students may qualify for academic scholarships based on outstanding achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Millions of dollars in external scholarships are also available! For any remaining balance after aid is applied, LSUA provides convenient monthly payment plans to help you stay on track financially.

LSUA Academic & Merit
All LSUA on campus students are automatically considered for academic and merit-based scholarships.
Scholarship totals are awarded per year. Students in 100% online programs are not eligible for any University scholarships!
To maintain a scholarship, the student must earn a minimum of 24 hours per academic year for students beginning at the start of a Fall semester, 15 hours for mid Fall starts, 12 hours for Spring starts, and 6 hours for mid Spring starts. Students must also maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Transfer Students
$1,500 for 3.0+ GPA*
Phi Theta Kappa members may be eligible for an additional scholarship.
A student who is in good standing with Phi Theta Kappa and transfers to LSUA will receive a $500/year scholarship, on top of any other academic scholarship that the student qualifies for.
In order to receive the scholarship, the student must submit documentation that he/she is a current member of Phi Theta Kappa to the Scholarship Office (scholarships@lsua.edu)
Students who are 100% online are not eligible for this scholarship.
Applications must be completed and submitted prior to the application closing date. No exceptions will be made for late applications.

If you have been awarded a scholarship from an outside agency, Congratulations! We will process those as miscellaneous scholarships on your account once the payment has been received. Please have your organization send the payment to Scholarships@lsua.edu.
The check and payment information need to include the following:
Student's full name
Student's ID number, if known. Do not include the student's Social Security Number. LSUA has discontinued the use of the SSN as primary identifier for students. If the SSN is the only known identifier, use only the last 4 digits, e.g., xxx-xx-4321
Name of scholarship
Contact person's name
Address and phone number of agency/contact person
Is the scholarship for fall and spring semesters or one semester only? If the donor does not specify, we will split awards between fall and spring semesters.
Is the student required to be enrolled full-time? Are students allowed refunds.
