Four Star Promise

In-State Tuition is available for all Arkansas, Mississippi, & Texas students who apply before April 15. This option is for applicants applying to LSUA for the first time. Out-of-state fee waivers are available for high-achieving students.

*Students enrolled in 100% online programs are not eligible for scholarships.

How Do I Apply for the Four Star Promise?

LSUA does not require a separate application to qualify for the Four Star Promise. The Out-of-State Fee Waiver will be awarded automatically based on information submitted on the student's LSUA application for admission. No applications submitted and paid after April 15 will qualify for the Four-Star Promise.

What if I don’t live in Louisiana or a Bordering State?

Non-resident first-time students who have a 2.25 high school GPA and either a 21 ACT or 1030 SAT score will qualify for an Out-of-State Fee Waiver, which brings the tuition cost down to that of our Louisiana residents.

What Additional Scholarships May Be Available?

LSUA allows students to qualify for a wide range of scholarships. Any first-time freshman or transfer student with at least a 2.5 Cumulative GPA may be eligible for an automatic academic scholarship. Please check out our scholarship calculator to see what you may qualify for.

Louisiana residency status is determined by the Admissions Office. Review the Louisiana Residence Status Policy.

Students interested in qualifying for an Out-of-State Fee Waiver must meet one of the two options below. To be evaluated for Out-of-State Fee Waiver consideration, a student must first complete an LSUA application for admissions.

  • Out-of-State Fee Waiver - For entering first year freshmen, students must have a 2.25 cumulative High School GPA and a minimum 21 ACT or 1030 SAT score and be eligible for College Level English and Mathematics. For entering transfers, students must meet all admission requirements with a cumulative GPA of 2.5.

  • Four-Star Promise - Residents of the states of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas are eligible for an Out-of-State Fee Waiver as long as they apply for admissions by May 1st.
