Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology

The Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree prepares students for careers as radiologic technologists and radiographers. Radiographers are highly skilled professionals who perform X-ray procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. LSUA students are prepared for a variety of employment opportunities inside hospitals, surgery centers, private offices, imaging centers, and urgent care centers. Students may also choose to go into commercial sales, education or management. Upon graduation, students are prepared to complete the National Certification Examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program accreditation status is Probation. LSUA is regionally accredited through SACSCOC.

Our Program Mission

The Radiologic Technology Program at Louisiana State University Alexandria is designed to prepare graduates who are competent in the art and science or radiography. The graduates of the program will receive an Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology and are prepared to complete the National Certification Examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
