Elizabeth M. Beard, Ph.D.
Provost & Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
A native of central Louisiana, Elizabeth Milton Beard, Ph.D., graduated from Rapides High School (’92), earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education from Spring Hill College, and completed her master’s and doctoral degrees in English at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Since joining LSUA’s English faculty in 2005, Beard has been a champion of student learning and faculty development. Beyond her academic work, Beard is deeply engaged in the community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Museum of Art and on the Generals Athletic Association Board, advancing both the cultural and educational missions of the region she proudly calls home.
