New Student Orientation
LSUA's New Student Orientation is a comprehensive full-day program designed to help incoming students transition successfully to university life. The program runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is mandatory for all new students with less than 30 earned credit hours.
During orientation, students are guided by LSUA's Student Ambassadors - an elite group of select students who exemplify leadership and professionalism. These Ambassadors conduct sessions on essential topics like campus resources, balancing academics, and getting involved in campus life.
Parents, spouses, and significant others are welcome to attend a separate Parent Orientation session that runs concurrently with the student program (except during Summer Orientation in May). There is a $20 fee for each accompanying guest, which covers lunch and materials.

Yes. The cost for each parent/spouse/significant other is $20 each that will need to be paid at check-in. This covers lunch and materials.
Dress comfortably. You’ll be given a t-shirt to change into when you arrive, so shorts and tennis shoes seem to be the most practical. You’ll be walking around campus throughout the day.
Check in at the Brumfield Caffey Annex, next to the Student Center. There will be people and signs to guide you along the way.
This is an all-day thing. It begins at 9:00 and ends around 4:00pm. Be prepared to stay the entire time as important information is covered at different times. We know emergencies happen, so if you have to leave, please let an Ambassador or Staff member know.
Please indicate any dietary needs or food allergens on your registration form.
If you require any type of special accommodation throughout orientation, we are happy to accommodate but need to know about those prior to your arrival. Please indicate any specific needs on your registration form.
