Congratulations to the 2017 class of Clinical Lab Technicians on their 100% pass rate for board certification.

The LSUA Clinical Laboratory Technician class of 2017 has scored a 100 percent pass rate on the national American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Certification exam.

According to the ASCP, the year-to-date national average for first-time examinees is 81.63 percent. The ASCP Board of Certification is the gold standard in global certification for medical laboratory professionals. A CLT graduate cannot enter the workforce unless they are board certified.

“I am very thankful to the CLT faculty and clinical sites who put in their time and effort in preparing students for the laboratory technician workforce and for their commitment to the LSUA CLT program. All LSUA CLT graduates are currently employed in various hospitals in Louisiana,” says Sona Kumar, program coordinator for Clinical Lab Tech and Medical Lab Science.
