Rad-Tech Professor Selected to Attend Governance Conference

Four members of the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists (LSRT) were selected to attend the 2018 Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) in Las Vegas. Pictured are Carmelita George,  Didactic Faculty at Baton Rouge General Hospital Radiography Program, Elizabeth Groat, student at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Candace Guillory, student at Northwestern State University, and Melissa Whitley, Associate Professor/Program Director at LSUA. Ms. George and Ms. Whitley served as Affiliate Delegate member of the House of Delegates and the students, Elizabeth and Candace, were selected by the ASRT and LSRT respectively, to participate in the Student Leadership  Development Program.

The House of Delegates is the legislative body of the ASRT and establishes professional standard of practice. It is composed of four delegates from each ASRT Chapter, two delegates from each ASRT affiliate society and four delegates from all branches of the military. During this three day meeting, the House of Delegates voted on several amendments to the ASRT Bylaws, Practice Standards, Scope of Practice, Advisory Opinion Statements and Position Statements to better the profession.
