LSUA to Crown a New Ms. LSUA

The Ms. LSUA Pageant will crown a new winner.

A new Ms. LSUA will be crowned on Saturday, April 22 in the annual Ms. LSUA Pageant.

The event will begin at 7:00pm in the Brumfield Caffey Annex Ballroom and will feature 11 contestants.

This year, the contestants include:

Kelsie Elaina Artigue from Krotz Springs and a sophomore Business major;

Nancy Banales, from Ball and a sophomore majoring in Business;

Elizabeth “Brooke” Dyess a junior majoring in Kinesiology from Florien;

Chelsea Renee Gravel from Alexandria and a junior Communication Studies major;

Rosa Cruz-Gutierrez a junior from Forest Hill and majoring in Criminal Justice;

Jordan Rae Lester from Pineville and a junior Business major;

Nola Elizabeth Parker a senior majoring in Communication Studies from Dry Prong;

Alexa Nicole Roberts a junior from Dry Prong majoring in Communication Studies;

Madison Denyse Ruoppoli a senior Elementary Education major from Alexandria;

Malorie Nicole Stone from Dry Prong and a junior Business major;

Terra Nicole Wilson a junior Nursing major from Moreauville.

The winner receives  $1,500 scholarship and represents the university at official school functions. The first runner-up receives a $1,000 scholarship and the second runner-up gets a $500 scholarship.  Other awards are presented for Scholastic Achievement, Ms. Congeniality, Ms. Photogenic, People’s Choice, Top Ad Sales and the Director’s Award.

The Ms. LSUA Pageant is open to all female students regardless of age or marital status. Contestants compete in casual and eveningwear categories and answer a question pertaining to their platform topic. Each contestant also participates in an interview with three judges prior to the pageant.  All participants have a mentor from the university faculty or staff.

Brittany Daigrepont, the reigning Ms. LSUA, will participate in the pageant and crown her successor. Missy LaBorde and Sarah Black will emcee the evening.

Tickets are available at the door for $8 for general admission and $5 for students.
