Shakespeare on the Green Returns to LSUA

by Sarah Black | Mar 13, 2017
LSUA is proud to bring back this event!

LSUA Theatre and the Empty Space Players are pleased to announce the revival of the beloved Shakespeare on the Green.

Performances will take place on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 at 7:30pm each day. Both performances will be outdoors on the Quad at LSUA.

This year’s production will be Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The production will also be LSUA’s first attempt at a “green production.” The entire set will be recycled from past productions in combination with reusing common everyday items. Additionally, many exciting and innovative techniques will be used in creating this production of William Shakespeare’s final play.

The Tempest will also be staged and performed using the “Folio Method” developed by Patrick Tucker. This method employs the text of Shakespeare’s first folio to illuminate the textual clues for the actors and the audience.

Tammy Killian will direct the production with a musical arrangement by Michael Sterne. Timothy Saucier is responsible for scenic design with lighting by Kendall From and costume design by Georgia Fox.

Each performance will be free and open to the public. Remember to bring a blanket or a lawn chair!
