Brooke Thomas Named 2nd Team NAIA All-American

LSUA outfielder Brooke Thomas named as a 2nd Team NAIA Softball All-American.

LSUA outfielder Brooke Thomas has been named as a second team NAIA All-American.

Thomas is a junior from Mandeville, LA who previously played with LSU Eunice.

Over the year, Thomas batted .467 and compiled 38 runs, 42 hits, two doubles, three triples, one home run and 17 RBI.  She also had a slugging percentage of .589, earned 17 walks against only eight strikeouts and had 19 stolen bases.

On defense, Thomas had a fielding percentage of .935.

“I am so proud of Brooke. She played hard all year and was not only a leader on the field, but off of it as well. This is a great honor and one that she richly deserves,” said LSUA Head Softball Coach Charlie Zeilman.

LSUA ended their season in the NAIA Softball World Series with a record of 35-5.

    Students who want to accelerate their college experience can begin taking fast-track courses this fall at the Learning Center for Rapides Parish. The four- and eight-week courses will be offered by LSU Alexandria.
