LSUA has been named one of the best schools in the nation for out-of-state tuition costs.
Louisiana State University of Alexandria has been named to the top 50 colleges in the nation with the lowest out-of-state tuition as reported by BestColleges.com.
According to the website, non-Louisiana residents who enrolled at LSUA during the 2013-14 academic year paid 25.8% of the national average for out-of-state tuition at a public, four-year university for the same time period.
The total cost of attendance at LSUA for out-of-state students in 2013-14 was $11,068.38.
“It is certainly great to be nationally recognized as one of the 50 colleges with the lowest out-of-state tuition, but it is equally important for the people of Louisiana to realize the value of a four-year degree from LSU of Alexandria. Our tuition may be among the lowest in the state, but our students are getting a very high quality education,” said Dr. Barbara Hatfield, provost and vice chancellor of academic and student affairs.
The primary data used for the list was the cost of undergraduate out-of-state tuition at not-for-profit public and private, non-religious schools offering four-year baccalaureate degree programs in a wide range of subjects and having at least 900 students currently enrolled either on campus or online.
