LSUA Gets Funds From Board of Regents

LSUA received funds for scholarships and quality enhancement.

In conjunction with the recent announcement of the Scott O. Brame/Cleco Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, LSU of Alexandria was awarded an additional $410,085 in funds from the Louisiana Board of Regents this week. 

These funds will be used in a variety of ways including scholarships and the continued enhancement of the quality of departments.  

The full list of awards is as follows:

Chemistry – Advancement of Chemistry Labs at LSUA  - Dr. Katie Whitaker…..$40,785  

Mathematics – Increasing Students’ Mathematical Success through Tutoring and Technology –Tanya Lueder.....$49,300 

Endowed Professorship Program – Joanne Lyles White Endowed Professorship in Education…$40,000 

First Generation Endowed Undergraduate Scholarships:

Elder Care Administration Scholarship for First Generation College Students...$40,000

2012 Endowed Scholarship for First Generation College Students…$40,000

Arnold Aubert Scholarship #1 for First Generation College Students…$40,000

Arnold Aubert Scholarship #2 for First Generation College Students…$40,000  

Arnold Aubert Scholarship #3 for First Generation College Students…$40,000

Arnold Aubert Scholarship #4 for First Generation College Students…$40,000  

Arnold Aubert Scholarship #5 for First Generation College Students…$40,000         

“We are very excited about these awards and pleased that the Board of Regents bestowed then on LSUA.  The money will go a long way toward making education a reality for those who may not have otherwise been able to afford an education,” said Dr. Barbara Hatfield, provost and vice chancellor for academic and student affairs. “Additionally, some funds will go toward allowing LSUA to continue to produce a quality product for the students that it serves.”

The funds will be made available for the 2014-15 academic year.
