Louisiana State University Alexandria (LSUA) has released a detailed co-location/concurrent use proposal that will hopefully be considered for planning and locating the new Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) at LSUA

This proposal demonstrates the numerous academic and financial efficiencies that would be achieved through CLTCC-LSUA co-location/concurrent use. Details regarding financial benefits, 2+2 degree opportunities, community partnerships, shared facility use, improved student life and enhanced student support are delineated.  Additionally, the proposal addresses the effective use of LSUA faculty and staff to meet both institutions' missions as well as outline the facilities and classroom space that could effectively be shared at huge taxpayer savings.

Paul Coreil, Interim Chancellor at LSUA, says he believes co-location/concurrent use provides a number of advantages not only to the students attending both institutions but also to the citizens of central Louisiana.  "During these challenging economic times, we must consider new ways of doing business that save money and provide a sustainable future for all central Louisiana students seeking quality higher educational opportunities" said Coreil.

This proposal delineates why co-location makes financial sense while providing/enhancing numerous benefits to students seeking technical, community college or 4-year bachelor degrees.

LSUA has also delivered copies of the proposal to state and regional higher education officials, city and CENLA leaders, and the media.
