New students planning on taking courses at LSU Alexandria this fall still have time to apply for classes, but they are encouraged to begin the process as soon as possible.

Students can apply for admission on the LSU Alexandria website (www.lsua.edu) or by visiting the Admissions Office in Abrams Hall on campus. Doing so earlier allows students a better opportunity to have all of their paperwork finalized when classes begin on August 26.

Once a student is accepted for admission, they can meet with their advisor and schedule classes. Incoming freshmen and some transfer students will also be required to participate in orientation. Through orientation, incoming students learn what it takes to be a successful college student and how to navigate the processes of becoming an LSUA General and start earning their stars.

Orientation sessions will be held in the ballroom of the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex. They will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Incoming students required to take orientation will be able to choose one of the following dates – Aug. 9, Aug. 16, or Aug. 21.

A $35 orientation fee will be added to the student’s fee bill once a schedule of classes is made. Parents are welcome to attend a parent orientation session on the same days. Parents planning to attend will pay $10 per parent at the door.
