Why LSUA

Student Spotlight

  • Rebecca Farmer

I’ve been called up for active duty three times since I have been here. This has prolonged my education; however, I have had the opportunity to see LSUA change in so many awesome ways.

  • Amanda Austin

My favorite thing about LSUA is the hands-on learning that is accessible to me. I know of other schools that don't offer as many opportunities to be involved with local businesses and organizations, and that’s really important to me.

All the professors at LSUA are readily available, whether it is in their office or even when they’re off campus. Many will give out their cell phone number and they’re more than willing to work with students. This allows me to be more at ease when dealing with them; it allows me to have a new found respect for my instructors because they care about my future as opposed to just doing it as a job.

  • Kristen Meche-Miller

My name is Kristen Meche-Miller, and I am a proud graduate of Louisiana State University of Alexandria where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.  Prior to attending LSU of Alexandria, I had the honor of earning my high school diploma as part of the first graduating class of Avoyelles Public Charter High School.  It was there that I realized my love for musical theater.  Since then, I have been fortunate enough to work in various parts of the entertainment industry including, working with music producers of all genres to working on a variety of movie sets including, Disney’s Secretariat.  I am very excited to be representing my Alma Mater as an admissions counselor for South Central Louisiana, recruiting primarily in and around the areas of Lafayette and Baton Rouge.  It is my personal goal to assist each of the students I represent individually and ensure that each experience at LSUA is a successful and unforgettable journey!
