The LSUA Continuing Education Department offers non-credit courses which include seminars, individualized corporate training, professional continuing education to upgrade skills, personal enrichment, instruction in specialized areas, hobby instruction, and adult training areas.  We also offer a variety of classes that can be taken online from the convenience of your home or office.  Call or email us for more information!

Intro to Microsoft Word - Level 1

Dates: Monday/Wednesday - March 12 & 14 OR Monday/Wednesday - May 14 & 16 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The course also helps you prepare for the Word Expert certification exam in the Microsoft Office Specialist Program. That exam is available at the LSUA Testing Center.

Microsoft Excel – Level 2

Course Description: This is a follow-up program to the Introduction to Excel course. In this course, you will use Excel to streamline and enhance your spreadsheets with templates, charts, graphics and formulas.
The course also helps you prepare for the Excel Expert certification exam in the Microsoft Office Specialist Program. That exam is available at the LSUA Testing Center.

  • Enhance the workbook. 
  • Automate workbook creation by using templates.
  • Organize data using tables. 
  • Create and modify charts. 
 
Microsoft Excel – Level 3

Public Speaking

Dates: Mondays - March 26, April 2 & April 9 - 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Course Description: In a positive and encouraging atmosphere, students will learn how to choose narrowed topics for the speech time allowed, analyze their audience, control speech anxiety, outline topics, write a speech, learn and demonstrate speaking delivery skills in front of their audience of class peers.

Business Communications

Dates: Mondays - April 16, 23 & 30 - 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Course Description: Now more than ever, employees need to have proper communication skills in the business world.  This course will teach students the business writing process in the digital age through learning the professional etiquette of letters and emails, organizing and drafting business messages, properly handling customer complaints, communicating with supervisors, subordinates, vendors, and customers for a win-win outcome.

Social Media Marketing

Dates: Mondays – May 7 & 14 - 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Cost per student - $249
Course Description: This course will familiarize students not only with a variety of social media outlets, but also with ways those platforms can be used as tools to market organizations, products and services.

New Paralegal Course starts September 18, 2018 Cost - $2,995.  Monthly payment plan available for Paralegal Program.  Course will be offered on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Course runs two semesters.

New Notary Course starts September 20, 2018.  Cost - $400. Thursday nights. Course will be offered on Thursday nights at 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Course runs one semester.

New Quick Books Courses coming in June 2018
