Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Are you looking for something the LSUA Library does not have?  Is the book you need checked out?  Register for an interlibrary loan account (it’s free!!) and borrow the item from another library.

What is ILL?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a library service that enables current students, faculty, and staff to obtain materials that are not available in the LSUA Library.

All first time users must create an account with our interlibrary loan system, ILLiad.  After creating an account, users can request materials, check the status of their requests, access electronically received articles, and view their request history.

Frequently Asked Questions

All LSUA faculty, staff, and students

The most requested items are books, chapters from books, journal articles, and newspaper articles.  We will attempt to borrow whatever material has been requested.  However, some materials are harder to borrow.  These harder to borrow materials include textbooks, new items < 6 months old, rare/archival items, bound journal volumes, and microfilm.

There is typically no charge to patrons unless materials are lost or damaged. In rare cases, the lending library will charge a fee. You will be contacted before the item is requested to see if you are willing to pay the charges.
