English, History, & Humanities (ENHH)

The Department of English, History, & Humanities has an energetic and diverse faculty who nurture over 150 majors from varied degree programs. ENHH also helps students meet the general education requirements necessary for graduation. The Department gives students the opportunity to study with dedicated teachers, most of whom publish in their fields. Because of our highly approachable teachers and generally small class sizes, students benefit from personal attention and from opportunities for research and publishing. Students at LSUA enjoy learning environments that encourage them to think critically and express themselves effectively.

LSUA's Online English Program Recognized for Excellence

Jul 25, 2019, 12:51 PM
The online English program continues to grow.

LSUA’s online English program has been recognized by bestcolleges.com as one of the best programs of its kind in the country.

“The LSUA online program in English went from being unknown to being ranked  20th as one of the best online English program in the U.S. It is a tremendous achievement and testimony to the high quality of the faculty who teach at LSUA. The LSUA faculty care about their students and are there throughout their college careers,” says Dr. Holly Wilson, chair of the Department of Arts, English, and Humanities.

The 2019 rankings reflect the most recent data available from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and College Navigator, both of which are hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics.

“Recognition by bestcolleges.com is a tribute to the collective effort to sustain an online degree program that fosters independent learning and is responsive to and supportive of a variety of students,” says professor of English, Ginger Jones. “However, without the training and assistance of Director of Distance Learning Teresa Seymour, Educational Technology Specialist Keyra Wagner, and Online Scheduling Assistant Brandi Coody, we could not have achieved this recognition.”

LSUA online English format prepares students to pursue careers in teaching, editing, communications, or writing. Students enjoy a comprehensive education along with a thorough understanding of English principles, literature, and comprehension.

Online classes begin every seven weeks. If you would like more information, please visit lsua.edu.
