Education Program Accountability

Accreditation

The Louisiana State University at Alexandria School of Education first established a degree program in elementary education in 2004 and became nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for the first time in 2010. Since then, the LSUA School of Education has remained nationally accredited at the initial level by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). National recognition was earned by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement. The most recent accreditation through CAEP was approved in April 2024 and continues through spring 2031.
