Students who wish to teach at the middle or high school levels can achieve certification through their major and a minor in Education. There are new General Studies Concentrations in Elder Care Administration, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Visual & Performing Arts. In addition to an associate of science and an associate of arts, LSUA offers associate degrees in the Care and Development of Young Children, Clinical Laboratory Science, Nursing, and Radiologic Technology. LSUA offers alternative teacher certifications and post baccalaureate certificates through the Department of Education, and a certificate in Pharmacy Technology.
