Student Worker - DOSE Marketing

DOSE Marketing and Communication Student Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Marketing and Communication Student Assistant works specifically with the Division of Student Engagement in the execution of all DOSE functions. Work with the Division of Student Engagement staff on a variety of creative projects including design and layout of advertisements, fliers, and other promotional material. Some assistance with copywriting, research, special events/promotions, media social media relations, web page review, and administrative support.
• Create Content: Develop content for various mediums including but not limited to ads, posters, brochures, web pages, listservs, videos, social media, and event releases
• Administrative: Meet with assigned areas to implement and assess ongoing marketing efforts
• Compile and Analyze Research: Gather and analyze research including categories of competitive, market, traffic and web usage data
• Other related duties as assigned (but not limited to customer service, implementation of promotional events and general office assignments)
Qualifications:
Ideal student candidates will have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while delivering exemplary customer service. A student employee must be able to work efficiently with many interruptions involving walk-in and telephone inquiries and requests. Desired skills and qualities include:

• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Applicant must be able to work 15-20 hours a week.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
