Position Details

Scott O. Brame/CLECO Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Scott O. Brame/CLECO Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, a $1,000,000 endowed chair in the Department of Business Administration.

• An earned doctorate in entrepreneurship or a closely-related business discipline such as innovation, management, or marketing from an AACSB accredited program.

• Documented excellence in teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level.

• A national/international reputation as an eminent scholar and/or teacher within his/her discipline and a demonstrated record of interdisciplinary participation.

• A record of prominent leadership roles on such entities as editorial boards, advisory boards, and professional associations.

• An outstanding publication record in top-tier refereed journals in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, marketing, or management.

• A record of external research and/or recognition for innovation in teaching and development of grants, contracts and other vehicles associated with attracting resources to your employing institution.

• Experience and an interest in developing and teaching courses in emerging areas of importance in entrepreneurship and related disciplines in business, conducting workshops in faculty research and publishing, and facilitating collaboration between faculty and the practicing business community.

Duties: Teach 6 hours per semester; provide scholarly leadership to faculty colleagues; contribute positively to LSUA attaining AACSB accreditation; mentor faculty in research and publications; engage actively and successfully with the business community; develop and supervise student internships; promote entrepreneurial resources available to start-up businesses; develop appropriate research and publication initiatives; and mentor faculty colleagues on the opportunities for business education.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
