Position Details

Director of Budget

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a Director of Budget. This position supports all aspects of budget and capital planning by producing budget and financial forecasts, financial reporting and other analysis. The Director of Budget reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor of Finance and Administrative Services but works collaboratively with individuals university-wide to support the preparation of the university’s budget, represents the campus to various public agencies, and to the LSU System and Board of Regent’s offices.

Duties include preparing annual operating budget, preparing budget adjustments, provide budget analysis as requested by different reporting agencies, assist in SACS accreditation process, and assist all departments as necessary.
Minimum qualifications required: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years related experience.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
