Police Officer 1-A

Effective immediately, Human Resource Management is accepting applications for a Police Officer 1-A position for University Police. This position may be filled as a Police Officer 1-A, Police Officer 2-A, or Police Officer 3-A.

Hourly Wage: $ 10.81

Applicants must have a score on the Civil Service LEAPS exam, series 9500 before submitting application. More information about this exam can be found at www.civilservice.la.gov.

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To protect lives and property by conducting foot and mobile security patrols; enforcing parking and traffic regulations; rendering emergency services; investigating minor crimes and making arrest when necessary. Provides a limited range of police services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No specialized experience or training is required.

LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.
