LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.

  • Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
  • Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
  • Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
  • Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.

Position Details

Senior Accountant

LSUA is seeking applicants for a Senior Accountant. This is a twelve month position with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2012.

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and accounting activities including financial reporting, audit preparation and the support of budget and forecasting activities. This position will work with senior-level administrators, state and external auditors and assist with the financial and accounting operations of the LSUA Foundation.

A.B.S. in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred. Applicants must be a licensed CPA in Louisiana. Applicants will have an understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure, experience in preparing tax returns, and developing and maintaining relevant financial databases with a high level of accuracy. Deadline for receiving applications is August 17, 2012.
