LSUA employs four different types of personnel on campus.
- Faculty Members - Members of the academic staff holding rank of instructor or above and equivalent ranks. Faculty may be 9 month or 12 month employees and they may teach and/or do research.
- Professional Employees - Administrative officers and professional staff that are generally exempt from the provisions of the State Civil Service System. This category is formerly referred to as Unclassified Employees.
- Classified Employees - Employees in positions covered by the provisions of Louisiana State Civil Service System.
- Other Academic Employees - Part-time members of the academic staff or full-time members of instructional or research staff below the rank of Instructor. Examples are part-time instructors, teaching or research associates, library associates, lecturers, etc.

Position Details
Instructor of Management
Louisiana State University at Alexandria invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Instructor of Management in the Department of Business Administration. This is a full-time, unclassified, nine-month position beginning in August 2012.
Position Description and Responsibilities: As Instructor, the appointee will be responsible for teaching in the Business program while fulfilling all the normal duties and responsibilities of a faculty member at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. These duties include maintaining academic qualifications for AACSB, advising students, and performing appropriate departmental, university and community service. Teaching responsibilities are primarily at the undergraduate level.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a MBA with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Marketing and/ or Management, and should be academically qualified to teach Entrepreneurship in addition to other Management courses such as Principles of Management, International Business, Organizational Behavior, and related courses. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching and intellectual contribution as well as exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
